New site, new mission (Take the carving to the people)
At some point, you have to be honest with yourself when you “hobby” has outgrown this stage and evolved into something more.
Over the course of the last two year, I have been making connections throughout the SF Bay Area to build more awareness around slöjd and woodcraft. Initially I thought this would be more demonstrations to recruit more folks for the local Bay Area Spoon Carvers and be a way I can nerd out in public while making things. I quickly realized a lot of people want to try this or buy a handmade spoon.
For the rest of the year, I am planning to continue to plant the seeds locally by having workshops through Fjällräven San Francisco where I am a Guide through 2024. I also anticipate some additional intro workshops through a few places soon to be announced. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Spoon carving demo at the Fjällräven SF store in January 2020. I was too busy carving to grab a photo from the May 14, 2022 event!
